Mel Gibson’s Malibu home was destroyed by a fast-moving wildfire that devastated his neighborhood. Fortunately, his partner Rosalind Ross and their son Lars evacuated safely before the fire reached their property.
During a conversation with Joe Rogan, Gibson criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s response to the disaster, quipping, “I think all our tax dollars probably went for Gavin’s hair gel.”
After returning to California, Gibson confirmed the complete destruction of his $14.5 million mansion, which he had been trying to sell for years. He shared that upon arriving home, he found his property completely gone.
While acknowledging the emotional toll of losing personal belongings, he focused on the positive, expressing gratitude that his family was unharmed.
Gibson described the destruction in his neighborhood, noting that other celebrities, including Ed Harris, might have also lost their homes. He humorously remarked that at least he no longer had to worry about plumbing issues.
Despite the devastation, Gibson was thankful that his chickens survived the fire.
Criticizing the authorities’ response, Gibson stated, “Apparently, some people were asleep on the job,” and urged accountability for the trauma caused by the fire.
