Katy Perry calls the year of her breakup with Orlando Bloom both her hardest and most transformative and here is why…

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom first began dating in 2016 after sparking a connection at the Golden Globes after-party, where the actor was seen flirting with the singer.

Their budding romance was soon captured by paparazzi at concerts, festivals, and joint vacations. However, in spring 2017, the couple unexpectedly parted ways.

A year later, Katy and Orlando rekindled their relationship, eventually getting engaged in 2019. Since then, their love has flourished, and in the summer of 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove.

Reflecting on their journey, Katy Perry revealed on Chelsea Handler’s podcast that the year of their breakup was both the most challenging and transformative period of her life.

“We broke up, and it felt like the worst year ever—not just because of the relationship but because my entire perspective changed. It became a chance for growth and self-discovery,” she shared.

To strengthen their bond, the couple regularly attends therapy. “Orlando and I do family therapy, and it’s been incredibly beneficial.

Despite being in the public eye, we’ve learned to balance our roles as parents and partners in our private lives. Therapy has played a significant role in our success as a couple,” Katy explained.
