Bradley Cooper, known for his role in “American Sniper,” rarely discusses his parenting or his 6-year-old daughter, Lea, valuing their privacy.
However, the experience of losing his father in his arms profoundly shaped his perspective on parenthood, prompting him to share insights about his relationship with his daughter.
On “Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge,” Cooper reflected on grieving his father and overcoming a period of nihilism that followed.
He revealed that accepting himself and his circumstances helped him grow as a person and a parent. Speaking about fatherhood, Cooper said, “You learn from your predecessor’s mistakes, and I make tons that I hope Lea learns from.”
Cooper and model Irina Shayk welcomed Lea in 2017 while keeping their relationship and co-parenting journey largely private. Despite their 2019 split, they remain committed to raising Lea together.
Living nearby, the pair embraces a strict yet nurturing parenting approach. Shayk praised Cooper as a hands-on father, noting he prefers no nanny and teaches Lea manners and responsibility.
Fatherhood transformed Cooper’s outlook on life, giving him a deeper sense of joy and purpose. He cherishes moments with Lea, from watching cartoons to embracing childlike playfulness, saying, “I just want her to always feel loved.”
