The girl who vanished 15 years ago, Madeleine, was most likely found in Poland…

In 2007, Kate and Jerry McCann from Leicestershire went on vacation to Praia da Luz, Portugal, with their children and friends.

The McCanns rented a first-floor apartment and on May 3, the sixth day of their trip, they dined at a nearby restaurant while their three children, including three-year-old Madeleine, slept.

Despite frequent checks by the adults, Madeleine disappeared, sparking a global search.

The Portuguese police were criticized for delays and mismanagement, while media coverage brought worldwide attention. After 100 days, local authorities suggested Madeleine might have been troubled by her mother—a claim unsupported by evidence.

The McCanns returned to the UK, where Scotland Yard launched its own investigation. Over the years, various suspects, including German Christian Brückner, have been linked to the case, though no definitive evidence has been found.

In 2022, Polish woman Julia Faustyna claimed on social media to be Madeleine, citing physical similarities and hazy memories.

Her story, which included a coloboma similar to Madeleine’s and allegations of being raised by non-biological parents, divided public opinion.

While some see it as a bid for attention, others are hopeful.

Julia recently stated that the McCanns have agreed to a DNA test, raising new questions in this unresolved case.
