Social media has become an integral part of modern life, even attracting celebrities who once avoided it. However, Scarlett Johansson remains firmly against joining social platforms.
Despite acknowledging their benefits as tools for raising awareness and sharing information, Scarlett has chosen to stay offline. In a recent podcast, the actress revealed her reasons, admitting that a brief experience with social media left her unimpressed.
“My ego is too fragile, my brain is too fragile. I’m like a delicate flower,” she shared, referencing the negativity often found online. Scarlett also pointed out the addictive nature of social media, humorously comparing herself to a toddler glued to their mom’s phone.
She recounted an instance where, after just 20 minutes of browsing, she found herself on the page of someone she didn’t even know. “I learned about a friend’s colleague who has a pit bull, two daughters, and lives in Burbank.
I realized I had wasted so much time,” she explained.
Scarlett concluded that the time-consuming and distracting nature of social media outweighed its advantages for her. For now, she remains one of the few stars who prefer to keep their personal lives off the digital stage.
