Senior Voice contestant Jimi Bellmartin stole the spotlight in the championship round with a powerful rendition of the R&B classic “Stand By Me.”
Known as the season’s frontrunner, Bellmartin captivated audiences from his very first audition, where his performance of James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World” prompted all the coaches to turn their chairs instantly.
A clip from the show’s finale showcases Bellmartin’s emotional delivery of “Stand By Me,” with his heartfelt interpretation, particularly in the chorus, leaving a lasting impression. Following his victory, Bellmartin is rumored to release an EP and perform live at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.
Born in Holland and raised in Vught, Bellmartin has been immersed in music his entire life.
Beyond party gigs, he contributed background vocals for renowned artists like The Trammps, Eric Burdon, Lou Rawls, and Percy Sledge. His career has taken him around the world, entertaining millions with his soulful talent.
In the RTL talent show finals, Bellmartin performed “Loving Someone” to nearly two million viewers under the mentorship of coaches Gerard Joling and Gordon.
His musical journey dates back to 1970 with his debut single, “This is My Love Song,” and later, as the lead singer of the funk band The Soul Snatchers in 2007. His soulful style makes his performance of “Stand By Me” a standout moment in The Voice Senior history.
