Liam Payne, former member of the popular boy band One Direction, has tragically died at the age of 31 after a fall from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires.

According to local police, the incident took place at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo district.

Best known as a member of One Direction, Payne rose to fame alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan when the group was formed during the 2010 season of the British talent show “The X Factor.”

One Direction went on to become one of the most successful boy bands in history before announcing a hiatus in 2015.

After the band’s break, Payne pursued a solo career, releasing his debut album “LP1” in 2019.

His most recent album, “Teardrops,” was released in March. Payne was also a father to a son, born in 2017, with Cheryl Cole, a former member of the girl group Girls Aloud.
