A store assistant reduced my wife to tears when she applied for a job, telling her she wasn’t “pretty enough.” This infuriated me, so I decided to teach the assistant a lesson.
My wife, Emma, has always had a love for fashion and impeccable style. Though she worked various jobs, her true dream was to work in retail. One day, she spotted a “Now Hiring” sign at a popular lingerie store.
Excited, she went inside to ask about the job but was met with a cruel response: “Look, hun, you’re not pretty enough for this job. Don’t even bother.” Emma came home devastated and in tears.
Seeing her so hurt made me angry, so I contacted my friend Mike, who works in fashion, and we came up with a plan. I went to the store, pretending to shop for lingerie for my wife. The same assistant was eager to help, hoping for a sale. After talking with her for a while, I stepped outside to call Mike.
Mike arrived, introduced himself as a talent scout, and evaluated the assistant before bluntly telling her, “You’re not quite what we’re looking for.” Then he turned to me, saying I could be a model and complimented Emma as the perfect fit for a campaign. The assistant was stunned.
Emma met with Mike later, and although she didn’t go into modeling, the experience gave her a huge confidence boost. A week later, we walked past the store, with Emma holding her head high. Sometimes, the best revenge is helping the people you love realize their worth.
