For the first time in over a decade, legendary Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher made a rare public appearance at his daughter Gina-Maria’s wedding, according to The Mirror.

The 27-year-old got married on the island of Mallorca, Spain, last Saturday, and Schumacher, who has been out of the public eye since suffering a severe head injury in 2013, was reportedly present at the ceremony.

To protect the 55-year-old racing icon’s privacy, guests were asked to leave their mobile phones at the door to ensure no photos of Schumacher were taken.

Since his skiing accident in the Alps, Schumacher has been under the care of his family and medical team at their home in Switzerland.

In addition, there were previous reports of two suspects being arrested for attempting to blackmail the Schumacher family.

They had threatened to release confidential files related to the racing driver’s family unless they were paid millions of euros. The contents of the files remain unknown.
