Freddie Combs, a former contestant on the second season of the U.S. “X Factor,” has passed away at the age of 49. Known for his powerful voice and remarkable weight loss journey, Combs died of kidney failure on September 10 in a Florida hospital, according to his wife, Kay.
A preacher by profession, Combs faced numerous health challenges throughout his life, including a peak weight of 417 kg in 2009.
He first appeared in the public eye in 2010 on the TLC series “Ton of Love,” where he began his impressive transformation, eventually reducing his weight to 245 kg.
During his “X Factor” appearance, Combs competed in a wheelchair, earning admiration from both the judges and audience for his vocal talent. Although he was quickly eliminated from the show, his time on the competition left a lasting impact on fans.
Kay Combs, who shared 25 years of marriage and friendship with Freddie, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the time they had together. Freddie’s journey, both personal and public, touched many, and his legacy continues to resonate with those who followed his story.
