Drew Barrymore disclosed that she doesn’t buy her kids Christmas gifts and explained her reasoning…

Drew Barrymore’s childhood, despite her early fame, was far from happy, marked by difficult relationships with her divorced parents, rehab stints, and even running away from home.

Now a successful actress, UN ambassador, and mother to two daughters—10-year-old Olive and 8-year-old Frankie—Drew has taken a unique approach to the holiday season. Surprisingly, she revealed that she does not give her children gifts for Christmas.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she stated, “I don’t give kids gifts at Christmas.” Instead, she prefers to create lasting memories with her daughters by taking them on trips during vacations. “I tell them: we will remember this place, we will have photos and a lot of impressions—this is what I want to give you.”

Drew clarified that throughout the year, she does buy them various gifts, so she doesn’t consider herself a strict or cold mother. “I just feel like the best gift would be our shared memories. I’d rather invest in those. The girls will get a dollhouse in May,” she added.

Drew shares her daughters with her ex-husband, Will Kopelman, the son of former Chanel director Ari Kopelman.

They began dating in 2011 and married in 2012, but the marriage lasted only four years before Barrymore filed for divorce in 2016. Currently, she is in a new relationship, but she has chosen to keep her partner’s identity private.
