Six years after her last album, Adele made a comeback in the fall of 2021 with the release of “30,” an album that reflects the emotions she experienced during her challenging divorce from businessman Simon Konecki.
However, Adele recently announced an unexpected decision to take another break from her music career.
Just days after its release, “30” became the best-selling album in the United States. Adele now boasts over 100 awards, including an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the “Skyfall” soundtrack, as well as fifteen Grammys.
Despite this immense success, Adele has chosen to pause her career to pursue her passion for English literature.
She expressed her desire to earn a degree in the field, regretting that she didn’t attend university after high school. Although she doesn’t plan to work in the field, she looks forward to experiencing higher education.
Adele’s studies will be conducted remotely, and she is expected to graduate in 2025, though the specific institution remains undisclosed.
The singer has often spoken about her love for English literature, a passion inspired by her school teacher.
“If music hadn’t worked out for me, I believe I would have made a great literature teacher,” Adele added.
For context, Adele was born in London and began studying music in school before attending the London School of Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, where Leona Lewis and Amy Winehouse also studied.
