Jamie Lee Curtis in Tears Over Surprising News…

Jamie Lee Curtis shared an emotional tribute to her dear friend and *Curb Your Enthusiasm* star, Richard Lewis, who tragically passed away at 76 from a heart attack. Curtis, known for her role in *Halloween*, starred alongside Lewis in the sitcom *Anything But Love*, which aired from 1989 to 1992.

Upon hearing the devastating news, Curtis took to Instagram to express her sorrow, sharing old photos of herself with Lewis. In a heartfelt caption, she thanked him for being “the reason I am sober,” as she recently celebrated 25 years of sobriety after battling opioid addiction.

Reflecting on their time together, Curtis recalled how she first noticed Lewis on a billboard for his stand-up special while casting for the ABC pilot *Anything But Love*. His humor and charm stood out, leading to his role as Marty Gold, her best friend, and potential love interest. Despite initial setbacks with the pilot, their chemistry was undeniable, and the show went on to air for two years.

Curtis fondly remembered Lewis’s unique quirks, like hiding his lines on props, and how they mourned together over the loss of mutual friends. In one of their last exchanges, Lewis wished for a boxed set of *Anything But Love* episodes to be released, showing his continued connection to the show.

In her tribute, Curtis expressed deep gratitude, saying, “He’s also the reason I’m sober.” She highlighted his love for his wife, Joyce Lapinsky, and how sobriety and love were central to his happiness.

Curtis ended her post with a touching farewell: “Richard, may you rest in laughter. My Marty, I love you, Hannah!”

Curtis also shared another post, including lyrics from the *Anything But Love* theme song, as a tribute to Lewis. She encouraged her followers to listen to the song, which was written by JD Souther, and dedicated the lyrics to her late friend.

Many celebrities and fans, including *Curb Your Enthusiasm* star Larry David, paid tribute to Lewis. David described Lewis as a brother, sharing how they were born just days apart in the same hospital. He praised Lewis for his rare combination of humor and kindness, jokingly adding that he made him cry with his passing.

Cheryl Hines, who also worked with Lewis, remembered her early crush on him and how working together on *Curb Your Enthusiasm* was a dream come true. She reflected on his kindness, especially in his later years, and how he made sure those he loved knew how much they meant to him.

Hines concluded, “To be loved by Richard Lewis was a true gift. Richard, I love you. We will miss you. I love you, Joyce, and everyone in Richard’s family. Lawrence, Richard loved you…You already know that, though.”
