Mervin Mayo, a Richmond police officer, took to the stage inspired by his wife’s unwavering support. Before performing, Mayo made a bold statement, saying, “And I am music, yeah, I am music,” reflecting the deep connection between his passion and his partner’s encouragement.
As Mayo sang a deeply heartfelt love ballad, he stole glances at his wife, who was waiting just offstage, silently cheering him on.
