Kathie Lee Gifford, a beloved television personality admired by many both nationally and internationally, has recently faced a series of unfortunate health setbacks.
Kathie Lee Gifford was recently hospitalized after a fall that occurred during her recovery from hip replacement surgery. In a recent interview, she disclosed that this mishap resulted in fractures in her pelvis in two separate areas.
This incident happened while she was still healing from her hip surgery.
Gifford explained that the accident happened when she overexerted herself while assisting at a book signing event in Nashville. The following day, while attempting to open a door for her friends, she lost her balance and fell.
“It didn’t take much, as I was already weak in that area,” Gifford recounted. “I ended up back in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, both in the front and the back. It was an incredibly painful experience, even worse than the pain from my hip. The pelvis pain is unbearable.”
Reflecting on the experience, Gifford noted, “You think you know your body, but it changes as you get older. I’d rather not focus on it, but I have to accept the reality.”
In a recent development, Gifford returned to her former role on the Today show and spoke with Hoda Kotb.
During the interview, she discussed her ongoing recovery from the hip replacement surgery and her latest novel, *Herod and Mary: The True Story of the Tyrant King and the Mother of the Risen Savior*.
It was also revealed that Gifford had been experiencing severe pain leading up to her surgery, with her doctor describing her hip condition as among the most severe cases they had ever encountered. She mentioned that her hip replacement surgery took place about a month ago.
