Royal Envy: New Book Exposes Kate Middleton’s ‘Jealousy’ of Meghan Markle’s Fame…

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are not close friends. Initially, when Meghan, formerly of “Suits”, joined the royal family, it seemed they had a good relationship. However, that connection quickly deteriorated, and now they do not communicate at all.

When Meghan first became part of the royal family, she was very popular. But her popularity waned significantly after she and Prince Harry stepped back from their royal duties.

At the beginning of Meghan’s time in the royal spotlight, Prince William and Kate Middleton were the more popular couple. However, Meghan received a warm public reception, which, according to a royal expert, did not sit well with William and Kate.

Meghan’s entry into the royal family was anticipated to strengthen her bond with Kate Middleton, but things did not go as hoped. Initially, it seemed their relationship could flourish, but it didn’t progress as expected.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, in their book “Finding Freedom,” explain that Meghan and Kate weren’t in conflict initially. Instead, they didn’t know each other well. The authors note that Kate did not make a significant effort to welcome Meghan, and Meghan was disappointed that Kate didn’t offer more support or mentorship.

In her Netflix show, Meghan recalled her first meeting with Kate as less than ideal. Meghan described being in casual clothes and hugging, which she later realized was unexpected for the British formality.

Tensions between Meghan and Kate heightened before Harry and Meghan’s wedding. Meghan revealed that a disagreement over flower girl dresses made her cry, though Kate later apologized with flowers and a note.

Prince Harry described in his book a heated argument between Meghan and Kate over a flower girl dress. Meghan was reportedly found crying after receiving critical texts from Kate about the dress, which led to the need for alterations. Despite this, Harry noted that Kate’s intention was not to cause harm, and she apologized the next day.

After their wedding, Harry and Meghan briefly lived at Kensington Palace with William and Kate before moving to Nottingham Cottage, a much smaller home, which Harry admitted was modest compared to William and Kate’s residence.

Royal expert Robert Jobson’s new book “Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography” suggests Meghan was surprised by the contrast between her modest home and William and Catherine’s luxurious apartment. Jobson also notes that William and Kate might have felt overshadowed by Meghan’s popularity, leading to tensions between the couples.

Despite the ongoing issues, Meghan is reportedly open to discussing matters with the royal family. According to royal expert Angela Levin, Meghan is still hurt by her treatment but is willing to have a conversation to resolve their differences.

She hopes for an apology from the royal family, although Levin notes that Meghan may be expected to apologize instead.
