This 5-year-old child insists that he and his classmate are ‘twins,’ but when the mother sees the photo, she is astonished…

Britney Tankersley from Foley has been married for 12 years and she and her husband are raising three children.

5-year-old child claims he and his classmate are ‘twins,’ but when mom sees the photo, she can’t believe her eyes.

At the end of October, the school planned a holiday – Twin Day. The children were asked to find a classmate who looked like them and dress in matching or similar outfits.

“My daughter had a twin at school, and we planned their outfits a week ago. Miles is in kindergarten, and I didn’t know they were also planning a Twin Day, nor do I know the parents of his classmates,” she told reporters.

Miles mentioned the event the day before.

“He jumped up and said: ‘Oh! I asked Tanner if he wanted to be my twin tomorrow, and he agreed.’ Then I thought… Who is Tanner? I don’t know his mom… What size is he?”

She immediately contacted Miles’ teacher, who provided Tanner’s mother’s name and phone number. Britney called her and found out Tanner’s clothing size.

She went to Walmart and bought two matching flannel shirts. Having never seen Tanner, she relied on Miles’ description that his friend looked exactly like him: same brown eyes, same hair.

The next day, Miles wore his new shirt and took the second one in his backpack.

Britney dropped her son off at kindergarten and went to work, asking the teacher to send her a photo of Miles and Tanner. When she received the picture, she was very surprised and almost teary-eyed. She then decided to write a Facebook post and attach the photo.

“Last night, Miles kept saying how he and another boy in his class would be twins for Twin Day because they looked the same, same eyes, same hair. He was sure they were identical. I bought the matching clothes from Walmart. Today, the teacher sent me this photo. My heart just melted. Yes, they are obviously two very different children, but Miles doesn’t see it. Can you imagine how much better the world would be if we all saw it the way these five-year-olds do?” she wrote.

Miles didn’t consider the fact that he and Tanner had different skin colors important. This view touched people on Facebook, as it represented an ideal world without xenophobia.

Within a few days, Britney’s post was shared by over 260,000 people and received nearly 500,000 likes.
