Elijah Wood surprised his fans recently.

In an interview with WSJ.Magazine, the actor revealed that he has two children waiting for him at home – a 3-year-old son named Evan and a 14-month-old daughter, whose name he chose not to disclose.

This revelation came as a shock to many, as Wood had not previously announced the birth of his second child, nor had he mentioned that his partner, 42-year-old Mette-Marie Kongsved, was expecting again.

Over a year after his daughter’s birth, Wood decided to share the news with the world, expressing his absolute joy in embracing fatherhood once more.

He expressed delight in fulfilling his paternal duties, finding great pleasure in waking up early to prepare breakfast for his children, a task he thoroughly enjoys.

When questioned about why he had kept his daughter’s birth a secret and had not shared any photos of his children, Wood explained that he prefers to keep his personal life private, not considering himself a public figure.

Interestingly, news of Wood’s first child, Evan, was also not immediately revealed to the public, only becoming known after photographs of Kongsved without a protruding belly surfaced.

Similarly, the relationship between Wood and Kongsved was not public knowledge until two years after it began, despite meeting on the set of the film “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore” in 2016, where she served as a producer.

Although rumors circulated about their engagement due to a ring on Kongsved’s finger resembling an engagement ring, Wood has yet to confirm any such plans.
