This baby is known as ‘Mowgli’ because he was born with super long, black hair…

Upon glimpsing little Oscar Jones, one might easily mistake him for Mowgli from The Jungle Book, given his striking resemblance.

Born with an astonishing two inches of jet-black hair, Oscar’s lush locks were already visible on scans during his time in the womb, though doctors estimated them to be only half an inch thick.

His parents, Sara Morris, 36, and Joshua Jones, 29, were taken aback by the sheer volume of hair upon his arrival.

Reportedly, they had to schedule his first haircut a mere eight weeks post-birth. When out and about, they often receive compliments on Oscar’s abundant hair.

Now at 20 weeks old, Oscar has earned the nickname “Mowgli” from his parents. Sara recalls, “We were truly amazed by the head of hair he had when he was born! It’s quite a rarity! His hair is incredibly thick and dark, unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Although Joshua and I both have brown hair, he takes after his father more in that regard.” She adds that Oscar seems aware of his copious hair, as he playfully interacts with it, albeit crying when it gets tangled.

During Sara’s pregnancy, she experienced gestational diabetes, prompting a visit to the doctor after a week of severe heartburn in May.

It was during routine scans that they first glimpsed Oscar’s hair, already measuring 1 cm. “We anticipated some hair on his head,” Sara recalls, “but the amount we got was beyond our expectations.”

Upon seeing Oscar, Sara remarked, “He looks like Mowgli!” and the sentiment was echoed by others, including Joshua’s parents, who have affectionately dubbed him “little Mowgli” ever since.

While initially inspired by his hair, his mischievous nature has also contributed to the nickname’s longevity.

At present, little Oscar boasts nearly five inches of black hair. Truly a mischievous and adorable little one, Oscar’s mane is the talk of the town. Share this delightful tale with your loved ones!
