Twenty-five years after portraying the beloved character Curly Sue in the 1991 film of the same name, Alisan Porter revealed her true passion: singing.

The former child star from the 1990s auditioned for the 10th season of “The Voice,” showcasing her vocal prowess with a rendition of the song “Blue Bayou.”

Judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Christina Aguilera were quickly captivated by her remarkable performance.

Following her audition, Porter opened up about the reasons behind her decision to participate in the show.

She shared that she had faced difficulties in her life but found strength in her journey to sobriety nearly eight years ago. Becoming a mother was her primary goal, and she expressed gratitude for the support she had received.

As a mother herself, Christina Aguilera was deeply touched by Porter’s story, recognizing the resilience and talent within her.

Aguilera expressed her desire to support Porter’s journey and offered to be her coach for the remainder of the season. Porter was moved by Aguilera’s words of encouragement and chose her as her coach.
