“The Mountain Man” undergoes a remarkable transformation, emerging as a silver fox. The Covid-19 pandemic, a universally stressful period, has spurred changes in various aspects of people’s lives.

While some opt for longer hair, others embrace weight gain or decide to shave it all off. The trend of letting beards grow freely has gained popularity, with many men abandoning regular shaving routines.

One individual took this trend to the extreme, allowing his hair and beard to grow unimpeded for two years. Lance, a husband and father from Boone, North Carolina, maintained his rugged appearance throughout the pandemic, resembling a true mountain man.

Despite 24 years of marriage, Lance’s wife, Nicole, found it challenging to recognize her husband in his transformed state.

The 52-year-old, who had always embodied a casual outdoor style, now bore a striking resemblance to someone who had been isolated from civilization for an extended period. His gray hair and long white beard earned him the nickname Santa Claus, and he was often mistaken for a grandfather.

Accustomed to a more polished look, Nicole had to hide her husband’s best jeans to prevent them from getting stained. Lance, who spent most of his time outdoors with his children and dogs, engaging in activities like hiking and assisting neighbors, had sported various beard styles over the course of their marriage.

Realizing it was time to shed his disheveled appearance, Lance embraced the opportunity when Nicole suggested involving him in Rachel Ray’s transformation show. Entrusting his hair and self-confidence to lifestyle coach Tommy Didario and hairstylist Erika Fleischmann, the transformation unfolded.

The result was astounding – a man who had appeared much older than his age was now rejuvenated and looked considerably younger. A well-groomed beard, stylish clothes, and a good haircut worked wonders in giving Lance a completely new look.

When Lance stepped onto the stage, Nicole was visibly shocked and delighted at the incredible transformation. Overwhelmed with emotion, she admitted feeling as though she was cheating on someone when she finally spoke. Lance, too, exuded happiness, basking in the applause from the audience and the compliments from Rachel and the transformation team.
