This gesture from a skilled surfer transformed a girl’s fantasy into reality…

Devoting her life to riding the waves near her residence in Waikiki, Hawaii, Kamalu Rosa, a 43-year-old surf instructor and professional athlete, finds great joy in introducing others to the sport, even in the face of potential challenges.

Her love for surfing dates back to her childhood when her father lost a leg in a car accident. Since then, whenever she spots someone on the beach facing physical challenges, Kamalu approaches them, extending an offer for a complimentary surfing lesson.

This generous gesture by the seasoned surfer fulfilled a young girl’s dream, showcasing the impact of Kamalu’s actions.

“I began gradually, helping kids who couldn’t swim to acquire the skill,” Kamalu shares. “I consider myself fortunate to do this professionally and assist people.”

Elias Walker, a friend who frequently captures these acts of kindness through photography, emphasizes Kamalu’s infectious spirit, noting that he consistently goes above and beyond, fueled by his passion for what he does.

One day, while by the ocean, Kamalu noticed Stephanie, a woman with cerebral palsy. Upon inviting her to try surfing, he was met with an enthusiastic “yes” from Stephanie.

Carrying her on his shoulders, Kamalu guided her to the surfboard, and together, they rode the waves.

Elias documented Stephanie’s maiden surfing experience, capturing the sheer joy on her face, confirming that it was one of the most memorable moments of her life.

During this session, Kamalu and Stephanie caught three distinct waves, both thoroughly enjoying the experience. Kamalu described it as an “incredible experience” and deemed it the most rewarding lesson in his teaching career.
