Upon seeing little Oscar Jones, one might immediately notice his striking resemblance to Mowgli from The Jungle Book.
Born with almost two inches of jet black hair, his lush locks were even visible on scans during his time in the womb, estimated to be about half an inch thick.
Oscar’s parents, Sara Morris, 36, and Joshua Jones, 29, expressed their surprise at the amount of hair, necessitating his first haircut just eight weeks after birth.
When out and about, the couple often receives admiration for Oscar’s impressive hair.
Now, at 20 weeks old, Oscar has earned the nickname Mowgli. Sara shared, “We really couldn’t believe what a scalp he had when he was born!
It’s not something you see very often! His hair was and is very thick and very black.” Despite both parents having brown hair, Oscar’s striking hair more closely resembles his father’s.
Sara noted that Oscar seems aware of his abundant hair, playing with it when laid down but crying if he accidentally pulls it.
Sara, who experienced gestational diabetes during pregnancy, first saw Oscar’s hair during scans prompted by intense heartburn.
Oscar’s hair was already 1 cm long during a regular checkup in May, setting expectations for some hair at birth, but the amount was a pleasant surprise. The Mowgli nickname stuck, not just due to his hair but also because of his mischievous nature.
As of the latest update, little Oscar boasts almost five inches of black hair on his head, adding to his endearing and mischievous personality.
