Born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee, Turner first gained prominence in the 1960s as part of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue.

However, her relationship with Ike Turner, her former husband and musical partner, turned tumultuous due to his abusive behavior.

Tina courageously left Ike in 1976 and finalized their divorce in 1978, marking a significant turning point in her life and career.
