Teachers are among society’s most important members, but they also receive some of the lowest compensation.
A mentor, counselor, or teacher who commits their entire life to mentor, counseling, and teaching the next generation is truly a unique breed.
There are several examples of teachers going above and beyond the call of duty to support their students.
Jonathan Oliver, a physical education teacher at WG Nunn Elementary School in Valdosta, Georgia, for example,
He recently won kudos for something he did to improve the enjoyment of a kindergarten basketball game. The game was being played by students in the school’s kindergarten class.
He would gladly assist a child who came to him for assistance. Kristen Paulk’s kindergarten basketball coach, Oliver,
When he observed she needed help putting her hair back in a ponytail, he jumped in immediately to assist.
Oliver moved to Kristen’s basketball level, took her hair out of her eyes, and then stared at her.
With a determined expression, he returned to the game. But he had no idea he was being videotaped at the time.
Kandice Anderson, a primary school teacher, was the one who recorded the coach’s wonderful deed.
She then uploaded the video on YouTube, where it quickly gained a big following of fans.
The film, which was called ‘When your job goes beyond teaching!’ due to its rapid popularity, went on to become incredibly well-known.
After the footage was shown on Good Morning America, the 34-year-old father of three children appeared in it.
‘It amazed me that it attracted that much attention since we all do it,’ Oliver remarked on Good Morning America.
He also claimed that he had no awareness he was being videotaped.
‘We want them to feel like they enjoy being here and feel at home,’ the educator continued.
‘We try to love them unconditionally.’ That led me to believe it was a ponytail.
Kristen had asked the committed coach to help her fix her hair in a ponytail before a basketball game.
He’s helped his daughter do her hair in the past, but this time he didn’t know what to do.
He made a joke about how he would have advised her to call her mother if things had turned out differently. ‘She ought to have requested a ponytail.
The girl’s mother, Miyah Cleckley, told the news outlet that she was very affected by the video and that she feels secure in the knowledge that her daughter is in capable hands with him.
She remarked, ‘I can always count on him to look out for Kristen’s best interests.’ Her father does a lot of the family’s hair,
so that made it cute. He does all of our daughters’ hairstyles while I’m at work because we have five kids and one son living with us.
