Blake Shelton Performs ‘Suspicious Minds’ in Honor of Elvis Presley

Carrie Underwood and Darius Rucker, two more country music legends, also made an appearance in the special. There is no shortage of Elvis Presley cover versions, but country musician Blake Shelton hit the nail on the head with his rendition of Suspicious Minds.

In a unique tribute performance, a bevy of musical talents came to honor Elvis for his triumphs and services to the music industry. Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, John Legend, Ed Sheeran, and others performed at the memorial, according to Billboard.

Shelton was in the spotlight as a performer as well as a host. In addition to the boisterous version of Suspicious Minds, Shelton sang If I Can Dream, Trouble, Guitar Man, and other songs.

Shelton’s selection to perform Suspicious Minds came as no surprise. The song was a huge hit in the country music scene, and many artists covered it. Dwight Yoakam’s version of the song from 1992 was one of the most popular. Blake’s girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, sang the song with her band, No Doubt, as a tribute to Elvis Presley in 2002. We’re confident that Shelton’s rendition of the classic song did Stefani proud.
